Fumie Coello

Fumie Coello, a Japanese artist, is actively forging her path in the art world of the South Bay area in Los Angeles, California. She is continuously refining her skills at El Camino College and has successfully showcased her work at local art galleries and fairs. When she's not painting, she enjoys immersing herself in the beauty of national parks and finding inspiration in the energy of rock concerts. Her art is deeply influenced by classic rock music, vintage fashion, and nature, which she skillfully interprets through her use of color and subject matter. Fumie's paintings stir a wide range of human emotions, including feelings of romance, love, happiness, and serenity. Her ultimate goal is to celebrate the beauty of nature and encompass the universal human experience in her work, often incorporating natural elements such as flowers, trees, birds, and butterflies.

Artist Statement

I have a deep interest in nature and human emotions, which is often reflected in my art. My work is a sincere expression of who I am and how I perceive the world around me. I specialize in contemporary realism, with a focus on landscapes, seascapes, and human experiences. Each of my pieces is characterized by intricate details and seamless color transitions. As a resilient survivor of stage 4 cancer, I find great joy in dedicating each day to the art of painting, from morning until night. I am truly grateful for the richness of life, embracing the roles of motherhood, painting, being a wife, and embracing my identity as a woman. These aspects of my life are evident in all my creations.
