Artist Statement

This painting is part of a series, Where we Love, created just prior to the pandemic. Exploring the pitfalls of making ourselves vulnerable for love, especially for those of us who identify as female or fluid on the spectrum.Inspired by the Roxy Music classic, In Every Dream Home a Heartache and the facade of impossible glamour lurking in Los Angeles, these paintings play with colour, composition and textures with a dark humor and pathos. I chose this painting for this show because I feel it captures the essence of power that lies in our sexuality which is at the creative heart of all wytches.
